Out & About in the Surrounding Tsawwassen area
 On Westham Island, just 20 minutes away from Tsawwassen, the Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary is one of Canada's preeminent bird refuges. The Reifel is home to many native local birds and a way station for thousands of migratory waterfowl. The snow goose migration during the months of October through December and also in March is particularly spectacular, but year round you can see a large variety of birds including the sanctuary's resident Sand Hill Crane family. This 850 acre treasure with its seven kilometres of walking trails is a "must see" for any bird lover.
  Explore the trails and board walks of the 140 acre Delta Nature Reserve in Burns Bog, the largest domed bog on the west coast of the Americas. A 90 minute hike will take you by a beaver dam and through a spirea meadow and a cedar grove. You may see deer and you will certainly hear and see many songbirds.
FERNWOOD GUEST HOUSE is just five minutes from Boundary Bay Regional Park, a 200 acre wildlife preserve. Here, on the dykes, and through the salt marshes, you will find miles of walking trails. Summer and winter, bald eagles, hawks, blue herons, other shore birds, and many waterfowl frequent Boundary Bay. Harbour seals can also be seen in the water and on the mudflats.
 At the south end of Boundary Bay Park, Centennial Beach (one of the finest sand beaches in British Columbia's lower mainland) is an ideal picnic spot. In the summer, the shallow water is perfect for swimming.
If you enjoy golf, you can choose between the public golf courses in Tsawwassen and Point Roberts, Washington at the southern tip of the Tsawwassen peninsula.
While in Point Roberts, take time to enjoy its rural charm. This American part of the Tsawwassen peninsula is a historical curiosity which resulted from a slip of the cartographer's pen, creating an American enclave cut off from the mainland United States.
There are other recreational facilities close by such as a water slide park and a small Formula 440 car track.
